Puget Sound voters name the Renton-based company Best Window Company for the second consecutive year — the only company to hold the title twice since The Seattle Times launched the contest in 2023, outpacing a national window brand that won it once.
RENTON, Wash., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lake Washington Windows & Doors has become the first company to win Gold for Best Window Company two years in a row in The Seattle Times’ Best in the PNW awards. Since the contest began in 2023, the category had changed hands every year — including a national window brand that won once and could not repeat — until Puget Sound voters chose the Renton-based company in 2025 and again in 2026.
Best in the PNW is decided entirely by public vote. The 2026 contest drew more than 1 million votes, a 16% increase over last year, making it one of the region’s largest community-choice awards programs. Winners were announced Sunday, Sept. 20, in the Best in the PNW winners’ magazine, delivered to 120,000 Seattle Times readers.

A repeat win for a locally owned company over national brands may say something about how Puget Sound homeowners choose contractors: they vote for the people they trust inside their homes, and increasingly those are companies based here. Lake Washington Windows & Doors completed nearly 1,000 home projects across King, Pierce, Kitsap and south Snohomish counties in the past year.
Founded in Renton in 2008 by Adrian Au, the company now employs about 70 people across showrooms in Renton and Tacoma. It is marking the milestone with a “Two Years, Two Golds — Thanks to You” campaign directed at the customers who voted.
